About Me
I bring a depth of education and training to my practice, driven by a deep commitment to understand and support young minds. I first trained and worked as a primary school teacher for several years, where I created a classroom full of warmth, gentle encouragement and self-belief.
Having gained a solid grounding in early attachment and child development, I then chose to train as a child and adolescent psychotherapist. I completed a foundation course at Metanoia Institute before going on to study a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Families at Roehampton University.
My journey has been guided by a strong commitment to nurturing children’s well-being and growth. In addition to my private practice, I currently work therapeutically with young people aged 4-18 years old at an Independent Day School in London. Here I provide therapeutic support for children, school staff and families. Alongside this I deliver workshops and further training for students, staff and the wider parent-body in order to improve mental health and well-being for the whole school community.
I have also supported children and young people within domestic violence charities in Women’s Refuges across London. I provided trauma-informed therapeutic support to young people and their families, and offered a safe space to explore their feelings and experiences. On top of this, I spent two years with Great Ormond Street Hospital providing support for children on the wards and have also worked with the charity Place2Be, using a play-based therapeutic approach with children in primary schools.
I have worked with children both overseas in Cambodia and Bali as well as with various UK-based charities, such as Free to Be and KidsCompany.
Alongside my work with children as a psychotherapist, I am an artist, working from my studio in West London. I find that art is immensely powerful as a way to both heal and to help communicate complex ideas. In my therapeutic work I use art to help children express and explore what is on their mind. I have a range of creative materials for those who find it easier to express themselves non-verbally in this way. Together, we will set the pace and agenda for therapy, exploring whatever matters most to each child.
I am a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Code of Ethics. I also regularly meet with a senior clinical supervisor to reflect on my practice. I have an enhanced DBS (Disclosures and Barring Service) certificate which allows me to work with children and young people.
With over 10 years of experience working with children, young people and families, I offer a therapeutic space that is creative, curious and informed. I build safe and trusting therapeutic relationships with young people that foster resilience and positive growth.
If you are a parent or carer seeking therapy for your child and looking for a therapist who will work to truly understand their unique needs, I am here to support you in this journey.
Let’s work together to empower your child to flourish.
